Assalamualaikum....
Ingin menyumbang untuk Gunung Online?
Kami memerlukan info-info berkenaan dengan gunung-gunung di Malaysia ini.
Aku tau ramai yang banyak info.
So far yang dah ada Nuang, Yong Yap dan Tahan.
Ini ialah untuk website utama Gunung Online yang akan siap sedikit masa lagi.

Report merepek-repek takmo aaaa. :P

Tambahan info seperti :

1. Bagaimana hendak ke sana.
2. Last water point.
3. Keluasan campsite.
4. Bentuk muka bumi

6. Dan apa-apa lagi yang dipikirkan perlu.

Bett.. saya cadangkan buat satu tajuk dlm forum ni khas untuk kategori gunung2 di malaysia saja... contohnya.. tajuk NO 1.gunung tahan...No.2 gng kinabalu 3. gunung korbu dan seterusnya, so kengkawan leh letak info dlm tu... tapi dgn syarat jgnlah merepek meraban dalam tajuk @ topik ni...kang asyik kena lock je..ni betul2 serius nya topik.. maklumlah kami2 semua memerlukan info fasal gunung2 ni.

Tambahan info seperti :

Background
Gunung Benom (2107 m / 6913 ft) is the ninth highest peak in Peninsula Malaysia. It is located in the Krau Wildlife Reserve, which is the second most important protected area in Peninsular Malaysia after Taman Negara, covering 520 square kilometers (200 square miles).

Location
Within the State of Pahang, Virtually in the geographical centre of Peninsular Malaysia, halfway between Jerantut and Temerloh in western Pahang, about 150 km (93 km) from Kuala Lumpur.


Climate
Lowland forest: Warm by day (hot outside the forest), can be cool by night.
Highlands forest and summit: Cool by day, can be cold by night or when raining. A tendency to more rain in April to May and October to February; rivers may flood at any season but more likely December to January.

When to go
Anytime of the year, but best outside of the rainy months.

How to get there
The most established route (and of shortest duration) is to access from the northeastern boundary of the Krau Wildlife Reserve via Kampong Ulu Cheka.
From Jerantut, by vehicle to Kampong Damak via HW64 (about 25 km). Kampong Damak to Kampong Ulu Cheka (about 7 km) on sealed road. Kampong Ulu Cheka to Kampong Tengah on unsealed road (about 2 km). No need of 4WD vehicle.

Kampong Tengah is the starting point to access the trailhead to Gunung Benom.

Permits
Entry permit must be obtained from the the Department of Wildlife and National Park (DWNP) or Jabatan Perlindungan Hidupan Liar dan Taman Negara (PERHILITAN), Kuala Lumpur. Permits are officially granted only to serious researchers, but polices have laxed somewhat (i.e. anyone can try to apply for a permit).
A few local tour companies also organize adventure tours to climb Gunung Benom, please check credibility of these tour companies.
The Trail
Kg Tengah Community Hall (120 m) to Trailhead (150 m)
Distance: ~ 1.5 km
Duration: ~ 1 hrs (ascend/descend)
Terrain: exposed unsealed plantation road
Sidelines: lookout for durians
Trailhead to Camp 1 (530 m)
Distance: ~ 3.5 km
Duration: ~ 4 hrs (ascend); ~ 2.5 hrs (descend)
Terrain: tropical lowland forest with a few river crossing (shallow); gradual to moderate gradient; muddy and slippery when wet

Camp 1 to Camp 2 (1430 m)
Distance: ~ 3.5 km
Duration: ~ 5 to 6 hrs (ascend); ~ 3 hrs (descend)
Terrain: tropical lowland to sub-montane forest; few river crossing just beyond camp 1; moderate gradient; trail indistinct at times (trail cutting with parang necessary)
Camp 2 to Camp 3 (1900 m)
Distance: ~ 4 km
Duration: ~ 5 to 6 hrs (ascend); ~ 3 hrs (descend)
Terrain: sub-montane to montane forest; moderate gradient; trail indistinct at times (trail cutting with parang necessary);
Caution: narrow trail with steep edge fall near Camp 3; last water-point just beyond Camp 2

Camp 3 to Summit (2107 m)
Distance: ~ 4 km
Duration: ~ 4.5 hrs (ascend without packs); ~ 3 hrs (descend without packs)
Terrain: montane forest; moderate gradient; trail indistinct at times (trail cutting with parang necessary)

The Summit
The summit massive consists of two knolls and is heavy with vegetation. The true summit has an intact trigonometrical station marker present, is located on the southeastern knoll. There may be some difficulties in locating the exact position of the true summit due to the dense vegetation and undulating terrain.
Do not expect stunning panoramic views from the summit! Views from the summit knoll is very restricted by vegetation.

betterman.. saya cadangkan untuk gps koordinat gunakan format WMR (west malayan rectified skew ortomorphic) 12 angka. sesuai untuk grid topografi malaysia. map datum peta menggunakan kertau 1946. harapmaklum....

aku rasa maksud mali adalah unit yg digunakan untuk coordinate. for example, gunung benum peak:

1. dalam unit degree ( N 3.82310 E 102.09425)
2. dalam unit degree + minutes ( N 3 + 49.386' E 102 + 5.655')
3. dlm unit wm rso (VE 455479 WMR 422929)

apapun unit yg digunakan, eventually biler convert sama gak, rasanya. cuma if bahan yg dirujuk (peta/track log/waypoints) adalah dalam unit yg sama, tak lah confuse nak kena convert/calculate.

kalu nak kem kat puncak datuk tu.....ada waterpoint kat atas
tp kena turunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn sket dari puncak/kemsite
aku pun xpernah turunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn sebab kwn2 tolong turun. hehehe. tp mmg ada.

5 minit yg mintak nyawa la cerek tu..hahah...

kat puncak datuk tu..klu hujan...bawah batu tu..kadang ade air jugak..kecik la...
n water point yg sebalah sane tu org ckp ade dlm stgh jam yg mencanak katenye..xpernah g jugak..hehehhe

nk tnye otai2 skalian...
kiteorg slalu jgk la naik datuk ni...kdg bawak 2 bijik bas jgk..buat trening..soalan dia...
Berapekah mase tuk sampai ke puncak yg di kira ok?yg di kira fit la....mean bukn tuk peserta//tp ajk2 kami..
paling cepat pernah kiteorg buat pon dlm 50++ minit kot....klu pikul beg tido atas dlm 1jam 20mnt kot...
mase yg sirkit tu bape ek?

Cerek 5 minit je ye? kena register kat Malaysia Book of Records tu.

kengkawan semua, ada baiknya kita jangan bagitau pada umum pasal waterpoint tu kalau tiada kawalan yang sepatutnya. sebab kalau ada yang cuba-cuba pergi sorang-dua pastu try nak gi amik air sorang-sorang bahaya tu. nie antara area Pak Belang atau binatang buas (kalau ikut bau dan kesan). jadi sebaiknya biarlah yang tau atau yang gi reramai je dibagi tips ambil air tu. untuk kurangkan risiko terutama yang biasa ambil direction untuk mendaki dari internet nie.

pergi tu biar ada kawan yang penah pegi atau guide yang tau. senang citer ada kawalan. amik air kat sungai tepi pejabat tu dah cukup bersih dah. tak banyak beza pun kalau ikut masa nak gi amik kat bawah Pondok 2 tu.

ops, dah off-topic dah nie.
jom kita renung-renungkan balik mesej dari Encik Betterman kita kat atas tu ye. tenkiu eberibodi. ilebiu all.

Aku penah guna benda ni utk kumpul data member sekolah. Memang baguz sebenarnya benda ni sbb sape2 leh update, kalo info salah boleh reverse, amik last update yg kita nak. Anyway, benda ni utk admin mmg purely technical, tak user friendly as per pengalaman aku, even masa blaja dgn org yg dah pernah guna.

Kena ada some kind of guide jugak sket2 utk mudahkan sesape yg tak biasa nak buat update dan dpt hasil yg cantik

Personally aku mmg puas hati sangat-sangat...
tak kisah lah nak kata aku syok sendiri ke hapa ke...
tapi aku sebagai pengerusi malam gala go rasa sangat teruja dan tak sangka dapat hasil yang over expectation aku sendiri.
